Honda Civic EK3 is 2nd to EK4 it is made for executive with economical fuel consumption. It drives with 1.5L engine compare to EK4 then in Sep 1998, Honda announced the upgraded version of EK3 Vi Type to Vi-RS. RS mean Road Sailing, not Ralli Sport or Racing Spec. It actually near conversion to EK4.
Vi-RS Special Feature

How to Differentiate EJ and EK by a Glance
Though above subject may not be relevant as conversion now is common but it just some ideas. Below some hint :-
1. Reverse Sensor - not available in EK model. EJ has it.
2. EJ - 160i and car of year emblem. EK- Civic Ferio emblem.
3. Trunk spoiler.
4. Civic metal plate on EJ.
5. No rear antena on EK ( EK3 Mi/ML only)but it has roof antena.
6. Black moulding - short & long around side glass on EK. EJ has chrome moulding.
7. Square spot light - mostly EK.
8. Interior - Digital a/c in EK
9. Carpet - heavy, thick, rubber sealed small carpet in EJ. In EK thin, civic logo, blue small carpet
10. Front bumper- Inner steel rod bumper guard only in EK.
11. Blue tag for EK with Jap letter. Red for EJ.
